Position description

Job title

Commercial Student Analyst

Become a part of the team behind the largest Fitness community in Denmark

The PureGym Way

In 2005, the first Fitness World center opened on Gasværksvej in Copenhagen. We wanted to challenge the Danish fitness market in terms of price, quality, selection and efficiency. We succeeded!

Today we are called PureGym, and we are Denmark's largest fitness community with over 128 centers. PureGym in Denmark is part of Europe's second largest fitness chain.

Overview

PureGym is looking for a Commercial Student Analyst (approx. 15-20 hours per week) to play a key role in supporting the business in making data-led commercial decisions. The essence of the role is to conduct performance tracking for us to spot and react to developments in a timely manner and to conduct ad hoc analyses to answer questions related to strategic or operational opportunities.

The Commercial Analyst will be part of a small but highly capable Commercial Management team, located in PureGym DK’s headquarters in Valby. However, you will be a part of the overall Group, which covers PureGym businesses in DK, UK and CH and a number of franchises around the world.

Therefore, the Student Analyst will have a broad interaction with colleagues from all functional areas as well as across different geographies.

Responsibilities

The Student Analyst will have a leading role in the following:

  • Recurring performance reviews: Carry out recurring performance reviews, commenting on findings and trends
  • Commercial analysis: Support decision-making in the organization by conducting and presenting ad hoc analysis on business challenges
  • Price management: Support in generating overviews of prices, changes to member privileges and the associated performance
  • Execution of changes: Liaise with other teams (mainly IT, Marketing, Operations) to conduct tests to optimize commercial model/mechanisms and implement the resultant changes
  • Competitor analysis: Track trends in the industry and our competitive landscape

Your qualifications

We are looking for an ambitious individual with the following core attributes:

  • Curious and driven: You constantly seek to learn and find new and better ways of doing things; not just solving problems but actively looking for how to improve any given situation
  • Love data crunching: You thrive working with large and complex data sets, finding the underlying patterns and insights
  • Highly structured: You enjoy bringing order to chaos and have an eye for detail – you probably like to organize your bookshelf by size or alphabet.
  • Operational mindset: You take pride in having a specific area of responsibility and working continuously on improving and executing this area over time.

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • At least one year left of study, preferably within an analytical area
  • Ideally has previous working experience from a full-time position, another student job or internship
  • Strong business acumen and a solid methodological toolkit from your studies, capable of reflecting and advising on the best approach from case to case
  • Ability to work with various data sources, ranging from BI data over surveys to more qualitative data
  • Experienced in Excel, working quickly and efficiency with all the main formulas
  • Speak and write English effortlessly
  • Ability to work on Mondays in the office and any other days that suit you
