The PureGym Way

In 2005, the first Fitness World centre opened on Gasværksvej in Copenhagen. We wanted to challenge the Danish fitness market in terms of price, quality, selection and efficiency. We succeeded!  

Today we are called PureGym, and we are Denmark's largest fitness community with over 140 centres. PureGym in Denmark is part of Europe's second largest fitness chain. We offer:

The Role

Location: Copenhagen Hybrid (3 days per week)

Type: 15 hours a week (flexible with days, and hours)

Contract type: Permanent

Exciting opportunity to join PureGym as a Student Assistant within our Insights and Analytics team! 

We are a value business, focused on making gyms and fitness accessible to as many people as possible. Data is at the heart of how we run our business, starting from where to open our gyms, and what we offer within them, through to how we engage with past, current, and future members. Combining the data from our over 2 million members with data about locations, operations, and performance allows us to unlock industry leading insights and drive a better member experience and commercial performance.

Data is a core competitive advantage to use as market leader, helping us guide decisions at scale and personalisation at the member level. To unlock the value of data, PureGym has built a Group Insights & Analytics function, comprised of Insights, Data Engineering, and Data Science teams, recognising the importance of close collaboration of data teams to quickly and efficiently deliver business value. 

We are looking to hire a Student Assistant into our Insights team, which includes:

·         Delivering data-driven insights projects across the entire PureGym Group

·         Maintaining and develop our suite of Business Intelligence dashboards serving insights to the PureGym DK organisation

·         Undertaking deep-dive data analyses to better understand how we can a improve the member experience and create business value

·         Leveraging PureGym's unique data assets and work with Azure Databricks technology, leveraging modern cloud-native technologies and data lakehouse architecture

·         Opportunities to work with our data scientists and data engineers to get a broad exposure to data projects and applications 

The Person

We are looking for someone who:

·         Is currently studying for a degree in data science, economics or similar with a strong quantitative focus.

·         Is proficient in Python and SQL.

·         Has experience building data visualisations

·         Has knowledge of data scraping (a plus)

·         Is innovative and curious: constantly seek to learn and find new and better ways of doing things; always interested to find new and better methods and technologies.

·         Has excellent organisational and time management skills, with willingness and ability to take ownership of projects.

·         Is a fluent English speaker (speaking Danish is a plus)
